Information we receive
People can browse Around Here without creating an account. Advertisers and event submitters provide information needed to review and publish a listing, such as an organizer or business name, email address, category, promotion, location, phone number, website, schedule, price, description, and an optional business logo for eligible plans.
Location
With permission, Around Here uses an approximate device location to request nearby events and businesses. The location is used to produce the nearby feed and is not saved as part of an advertiser listing. Device settings can deny or revoke location access.
Payments
Advertising subscriptions purchased inside the iPhone app are processed by Apple through In-App Purchase. Advertising subscriptions purchased through Around Here's website are processed by PayPal. Around Here receives subscription identifiers, status, plan, and subscriber contact information needed to verify advertising eligibility. Around Here does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers. Apple and PayPal process payment and billing information under their own privacy policies.
How information is used
- Operate, review, and publish local listings.
- Verify advertising subscriptions and manage listing eligibility.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and prohibited content.
- Respond to listing or support requests.
- Improve reliability and understand aggregate usage.
Public and private listing data
Approved listing content—such as a business name, logo, promotion, event details, public phone number, website, and location—can appear publicly. Submission email addresses and payment records are not included in the public listings API.
Service providers and retention
Around Here uses hosting, database, event-data, and payment providers to operate the service. Information is retained as reasonably necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse.
Choices and requests
Users may deny location permission. Listing owners can request a correction or removal through the support option in the Around Here app. Privacy requests will be verified before account or listing information is changed. Contact aroundhere.support@gmail.com.
Children
Around Here is a general local-discovery service and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children under 13.
Changes
This policy may be updated as Around Here adds features or providers. The effective date above will be changed when material updates are published.
